Marlo Pascual is a featured artist in I have a secret wish… and easily one of my favorite contemporary artists working right now.
Marlo Pascual received her BA from the University of Tennessee and her MFA from Tyler School of Art. Marlo is represented in NYC by Casey Kaplan Gallery but has shown all over the world with her work residing in the permanent collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
Marlo Pascual uses vintage images and furniture she appropriates from ebay and second-hand stores as a starting point to create subtle but powerful installations. Marlo’s installations reject the jaded and ironic sentimentality of hip youth culture and instead evoke a fragile and delicate nostalgia that plays with the interaction between the image, the viewer and the space the work occupies.
